Williams Martini Racing is a British Formula One team founded and managed by team owner Sir Frank Williams and automotive engineer Sir Patrick Head and was formed in 1977 where the team first raced in the Spanish Grand Prix.
The Canadian Jacques Villeneuve scored the team’s 100th victory. Between 1980 and 1997 Williams managed to win 9 constructors Championships. This stood as a record until Ferrari passed it in 2000.
The team have worked with many engine manufacturers but most successfully with Renault, winning five of their nine Constructors titles together. For the 2018 championship Williams with be racing with the Mercedes Engine.
