Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has had a tumultuous season. However, the Briton never considered stepping down from his position at the Austrian racing team. “To be honest, I’ve never thought about it,” says the Briton.
Christian Horner experienced a turbulent year in 2024. It began with allegations of inappropriate behaviour by the Red Bull team boss towards a female employee. The accusations were later dismissed, but the Briton then had to deal with the quirks of the RB20 and McLaren’s catch-up in the constructors’ championship.
Despite all the turmoil within Red Bull, Horner has never considered leaving the Austrian racing team. “To be honest, I’ve never thought about it,” the team principal tells PlanetF1.
The Brit sees plenty of challenges to continue as team boss for the time being. “There’s a very exciting next chapter coming up with Red Bull Powertrains (Red Bull’s engine department), it’s the biggest challenge we’ve undertaken in the twenty years we’ve been in the sport.”

Horner does not label 2024 as a lost year either, as Max Verstappen successfully defended his driver’s title. “It’s proof of how Max drove this year, but also of the team and the fact that we never gave up and focused on the performances on the track,” Horner continues. “It was certainly a challenging year. There was a lot to deal with, but we always stayed focused on the track.”
