The sprint qualifying for the Grand Prix of China was a disappointment for Liam Lawson. The Red Bull driver did not advance beyond SQ1 and faces a catch-up race during the sprint race on Saturday.
Liam Lawson finished eight-tenths behind his teammate Max Verstappen. Over the team radio, the New Zealander complained that he could not get his tires to the correct temperature. In Melbourne, Lawson also failed to impress in his first race for Red Bull. Then, Q1 in the qualifying was also the final stop for the driver who had transferred from Racing Bulls.
