Potential issues loom for the Williams team. An FIA representative reports that the British racing stable failed to share camera footage of the front and rear wings in a timely manner. Following the first free practice for the Chinese GP, it appears the team withheld the footage. The incident is now being handled by the FIA stewards. Amidst all the controversy over flexible components, it’s notable that Williams is now facing trouble.

A modern Formula 1 car is equipped with numerous cameras, including those capturing the front and rear wings. After much controversy last year over movable components, there was extra strict monitoring of such features during the race weekend in Shanghai. However, Williams did not share the camera footage with the FIA in time after the first free practice. The matter is now with the stewards, who will determine whether the team will face a penalty.

“Williams failed to provide the video files recorded by the forward and rearward cameras within one hour after the end of the first free practice session,” according to the FIA report. “The footage captured by these cameras is used to check various technical guidelines. As this is in violation of the regulations, the case is now with the stewards.”
