Manager Raymond Vermeulen reflects on Max Verstappen‘s past Formula 1 season with a sense of pride. Although Verstappen narrowly missed retaining his title, his performances throughout the season were highly impressive.
“Max is now receiving the international recognition he deserves,” says Raymond Vermeulen. “His performances this season have been truly captivating. We’ve been saying for a while that he’s an exceptional talent on four wheels, but what he’s shown this season, given the circumstances, is phenomenal. It’s great that everyone is now seeing this. Was this season better than 2023, when he won 19 out of 22 races? He had to come from far behind this year.”
Vermeulen continues: “Let me put it this way, this season has been a masterpiece from Max. He managed to turn the year around. At the beginning, we had a few very bad weekends with the Red Bull Racing team, which cost us in the end. But if you look at it from another perspective, McLaren made many more mistakes. With that car, Lando Norris should have become champion much earlier.”
