Max Verstappen has been awarded for the second time for his overtaking move on Oscar Piastri in Imola. The driver had essentially secured his victory in the Italian Emilia-Romagna with the daring manoeuvre in the opening round of the Grand Prix. A month later, Verstappen also receives the special Overtake of the Month award for his overtaking move.
Max Verstappen triumphed during the GP Emilia-Romagna, but he essentially won the race in the opening corners. The Dutch driver overtook polesitter Oscar Piastri with a masterful overtaking move. Verstappen then held onto the lead, eventually crossing the finish line a good six seconds ahead of Lando Norris. Verstappen’s overtaking move was widely praised, and now also receives the official Overtake of the Month title for the month of May from Formula 1.
