Just two days after his impressive victory at the Italian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was back on the Monza circuit – this time not for a race, but as a participant in a Pirelli tyre test. The official tyre supplier of Formula 1 is heavily invested in the development of tyres for the 2026 season, and Verstappen has already provided valuable data.

On Tuesday, following the Italian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen participated in the tyre test for Pirelli. The test took place at the Monza circuit, where Verstappen had secured his third win of the season earlier in the week. The focus of the test day was not on performance, but on data collection.

Verstappen drove a session of test laps in the morning to evaluate various Pirelli tyre compounds. Other drivers also took part, including Felipe Drugovich for Aston Martin, Isack Hadjar for Racing Bulls, and Carlos Sainz for Williams. In the afternoon session, Yuki Tsunoda took over from Verstappen.

RB19 Back in Action

For Verstappen, it was a special moment: he got back into his trusty old RB19 for the first time in a long while. With this car, he won 19 out of a total of 22 races in 2023, setting the record for the most victories in a single season. Thanks to the rules of Pirelli’s test regulations, the driver was allowed to return to his dominant Red Bull from two years ago for one more time this week.
