The British Grand Prix is just around the corner! Following the Austrian Grand Prix, Formula 1 concludes this European double header with a race on English tarmac. Max Verstappen and his colleagues are trading the scorching heat of Spielberg for the relatively cool Silverstone. The teams may even have to contend with some showers this weekend. Here’s the full weather forecast for the British Grand Prix!

At the Red Bull Ring, spectators were treated to a delightful experience. Temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius made for a summer weekend in Austria. Silverstone, however, tells a different story. The weather forecast for the British GP looks typically English; grey, windy, and with a chance of rain. The free practice sessions are likely to remain dry, but during the crucial qualifying and the main event on Sunday, the drivers may have to deal with wet conditions.

Weather Forecast for the British Grand Prix

The opening day on Friday promises to be pleasant. During the day, it will be sunny with temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. During the first free practice sessions, a gentle breeze may blow in from the southwest, but this will hardly hinder the drivers. The chance of precipitation during these sessions is only 5 percent.

On Saturday, the weather changes significantly. The final free practice and the qualifying are likely to take place under grey skies. The temperature also drops considerably – it will be between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius during the day. Visitors would do well to bring a jacket to the stands – preferably a waterproof one, as heavy rain is expected, especially in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is as high as 90 percent. During the race on Sunday, the weather is expected to clear up a bit. The sun may even make an appearance and the temperature could reach around 22 degrees. However, it will likely remain dry – the chance of precipitation during the race is about 60 percent.
