Following the Dutch GP at Zandvoort, the Formula 1 circus moves to Italy for the sixteenth round of the season. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza – also known as the Temple of Speed – sets the stage for the next showdown between Max Verstappen and his McLaren rivals. The current weather forecast for the Italian GP suggests it’s going to be a summer spectacle.
The past race weekend in Zandvoort was marked by changeable weather; while the paddock was occasionally plagued by strong winds and rain, the sessions remained remarkably dry. The upcoming weekend in Monza promises to be much more pleasant. According to the latest forecasts, Max Verstappen and his colleagues are looking forward to a sunny weekend, with a slight chance of precipitation.
Weather Forecast for the Italian GP
The opening day on Friday promises to be a pleasant one right away. While there may be a mild storm around the circuit at night, the first free practice sessions will remain dry. The mercury will rise to 27 degrees Celsius during these initial practice sessions, although it may feel a bit warmer in the afternoon sun. There will be a gentle southwest wind, and visitors to the Italian GP would do well to bring sunscreen to the circuit – with as many as 11 hours of sunshine per day, you can quickly get sunburned in Monza.
On Saturday, when the qualification takes place at 14:00 UTC, it will remain pleasantly warm at the Temple of Speed. The temperature will be 26 degrees, with again little chance of precipitation. According to current forecasts, there is about a 5% chance of wetness. There may be some local thunderstorms in the north of Italy, but around Monza, it will at most be a bit cloudy. On Sunday, the chance of precipitation is 0%, so the teams will be preparing for a dry race. During the Grand Prix – which is fought over 53 laps – the temperature will reach a maximum of 29 degrees Celsius.
