Rinus ‘Veekay’ van Kalmthout will be racing in a predominantly white vehicle in this year’s IndyCar series, as revealed by the livery presented by Dale Coyne Racing, the Dutchman’s new team.
It was already known that Veekay would be racing under number 18. The new color scheme is now also known. Apart from the predominantly white color, the new main sponsor, askROI, also stands out. This company is not unfamiliar to Van Kalmthout, as he could already count on support from askROI at his previous team, Ed Carpenter Racing.
The fact that the sponsor has made the switch with him to Dale Coyne Racing, of course, pleases Veekay. “This will be my second season with askROI as the main sponsor and I greatly appreciate the support. The commitment from askROI gives me confidence and provides resources and helps in the pursuit of success. The new logo and colors provide a fresh start, I look forward to starting a new chapter with Dale Coyne Racing and together making our mark on the championship.”
The IndyCar season begins on Sunday, March 2, with a race in St. Petersburg, Florida. The championship consists of seventeen races, with the most famous, of course, being the Indy500. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, May 25.
