Yuki Tsunoda feels ‘refreshed’ and ready for the upcoming race weekend at Zandvoort and the second half of the 2025 season. The Japanese driver was given the opportunity to move up to the Red Bull main team after just two Grands Prix, but has yet to impress – in twelve races, he has only collected seven World Championship points for the Austrian team. Fortunately, he feels mentally and physically stronger after a ‘very good summer break’.

“I’m starting this weekend refreshed and ready to go,” Tsunoda stated. “I had a very good summer break, with a perfect mix of rest, time with friends, good food, and especially a lot of good training. As a result, I feel mentally and physically stronger, especially with the second half of the season in mind.” Including the Dutch GP at Zandvoort, Tsunoda has ten more Grands Prix to look forward to.

Zandvoort’s Challenging Weekend

“Zandvoort will be a tough weekend for everyone,” Tsunoda predicted. “The weather always brings new challenges, and this weekend it looks like it’s going to be wet. That, combined with the wind and the location of the circuit, can make it unpredictable. But we’ve worked hard to overcome that and put together a solid, consistent weekend. It will also be my first time as Max Verstappen‘s teammate at his home race, so I think the crowd will be quite excited for Red Bull. That promises to make it a fun weekend anyway.”

The 25-year-old driver has not yet secured a new contract for the next season. In the run-up to the GP of Zandvoort, rumors surfaced that Tsunoda might be replaced by IndyCar champion Alex Palou. However, the Spaniard firmly denied these speculations. “There is absolutely nothing,” he told AP news agency. “We haven’t heard anything from anyone.” Chip Ganassi, the boss of Palou’s eponymous racing team, also reacted sharply: “I’ve read it and discussed it with Palou’s management. They know nothing, I know nothing. It must be clickbait.”
