Team leader Andrea Stella is committed to supporting his driver, Lando Norris. After the Belgian Grand Prix, Norris expressed the need for a minor “reset” following a series of “silly mistakes”. In response, Stella has prepared some advice for Norris.
Lando Norris is currently the closest challenger to Max Verstappen for the world title. Despite trailing the Dutchman by 78 points, Norris has managed to give Verstappen a run for his money in several races during the first half of the season. However, Norris himself is frustrated that a series of “silly” mistakes have cost him valuable points in recent races. He hopes to hit the “reset” button during the summer break.

Team Boss Andrea Stella’s Strategy for Improvement
Team boss Andrea Stella is eager to assist his driver in improving performance. “These are marginal things, but I think there are small adjustments needed here and there,” Stella explains. “We are working with Lando, just as we are with Oscar (Piastri), to try and identify all the areas where we can improve individually. But also to work better together to either be better prepared or to better utilize our abilities and talents.”
Missed Opportunities
Stella believes that McLaren doesn’t need to change its approach, but should analyze “how some of these missed opportunities manifest.” Two of these missed opportunities occurred in Spain and Hungary, when Norris twice fell from pole position to P3 during the opening round.
The Italian team boss has therefore already identified something for his driver to work on during the summer break. “Just like any other athlete or driver, I think Lando himself, with the support of the team, will have to reflect: ‘What can I do better to ensure that we benefit from the good work we are doing?'” says Stella.
