Lance Stroll, typically reserved, had quite a bit to say in Las Vegas on Wednesday. His comments were in response to criticism from Franco Colapinto. “Perhaps he should try scoring a point first,” retorted Stroll.

Colapinto had some harsh words for his Canadian colleague after the recent Grand Prix in São Paulo. “Stroll is always in the way, he doesn’t look in his mirrors. Because of him, Bortoleto ended up in the wall. He keeps doing things like this,” he said. These comments clearly struck a nerve with Stroll, as was evident on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

“How many points does he (Colapinto) actually have?” Stroll asked, before concluding that the Argentine Alpine driver has yet to score a single point. “Perhaps he should try scoring a point first.” But the Canadian didn’t stop there. “What’s his problem? Maybe he’s angry, frustrated, has a hard life.”

Colapinto didn’t delve too deeply into the matter during a later press conference. “Sometimes you say things after a race out of emotion. We do run into each other quite often on the track. That’s just how it goes sometimes.”
