Is Adrian Newey making a move to Aston Martin? The star designer, who bid farewell to Red Bull this year, has been repeatedly linked to a transition to Silverstone. A spokesperson for the British team recently denied any agreement, but team owner Lawrence Stroll maintains close contact with Newey and remains determined to establish a collaboration.
While the rumor mill churns around Adrian Newey and Aston Martin, Lawrence Stroll emphasizes his longstanding relationship with the 65-year-old aerodynamics expert. The highly acclaimed Brit has already won twelve constructors’ titles and thirteen drivers’ titles with his designs. It’s no surprise that the Canadian billionaire and team owner of Aston Martin is eager to bring him on board.
The Most Talented Individual in Formula 1
“Adrian (Newey) and I have not just been talking for a few months; we’ve actually been having conversations for years,” Lawrence Stroll said in an interview with Bloomberg. “Based on his achievements, he is clearly the most talented and gifted individual in Formula 1. Of course, I would be very excited if someone like Newey wanted to join our team, but that applies to every team on the grid.”
When asked if Newey is actually going to join Aston Martin, Stroll said, “I certainly hope so.” According to multiple sources, an official announcement is awaited, although a spokesperson has denied that a deal has been signed. In recent months, Aston Martin has already strengthened its team with former Mercedes engine boss Andy Cowell and Enrico Cardile, former chassis technician of Ferrari. When the team partners with engine supplier Honda in 2026, it hopes to be ready for a title fight with the other top teams.
