Viaplay reporter Chiel van Koldenhoven was hoping to interview Max Verstappen just before he climbed into his RB20. The three-time world champion was starting from P1 in Imola this afternoon, but he still took the time to provide some commentary for the Dutch audience. However, security had other ideas and forcefully removed Van Koldenhoven from the grid.
At the start of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, the circuit was understandably busy. With the Viaplay microphone in his face, Max Verstappen made his way to the start. For Chiel van Koldenhoven and the Dutch viewers, the Red Bull driver had a few words to share. However, the interview was cut short – as the two walked onto the track, the Viaplay staff were intercepted by security.
Sky Sports took full advantage of this opportunity to catch up with the championship leader. As Verstappen waved goodbye to the Viaplay team, Rachel Brookes’ microphone was immediately there to catch him. “I’m afraid you need to have a grid sticker,” she laughed.
