Carlos Sainz has once again impressed in Austin. The Spaniard started seventh in the chaotic sprint race, but confidently worked his way to the podium. While Max Verstappen claimed victory and George Russell came in second, Sainz held off the competition and secured third place, his second podium finish in three races.
“We had a solid race and the speed was also good,” Sainz reflected contentedly. “The Ferraris were fast, but I was able to keep them behind me. And to then finish third is very good.”
According to the Spaniard, there’s no secret to his recent form. “Actually, nothing,” he laughs. “We just have a bit more luck. The speed has been there all year, but we couldn’t always show it. Now everything is just running a lot smoother. So, I’m not doing anything differently, but everything is just falling into place now.
