Robin Frijns is leaving Envision Racing. The Dutchman and the Formula E team have announced that they are parting ways. This marks the end of a long-term collaboration. Frijns drove for the British racing team for four seasons between 2019 and 2022, during which he won an E-Prix twice. After a year with ABT CUPRA, he returned to Envision in 2024.
In an official press release, team boss Sylvain Filippi praises the contribution of the Limburger. “During Robin’s six seasons with Envision Racing, he achieved excellent results and drove fantastic races,” says Filippi. “His two victories and numerous podium finishes stand out, as does his pure speed and his ability to drive a perfect lap when needed. He is a formidable competitor and a valued member of our team.”
New Direction
According to Filippi, it is now time for a new direction. “Formula E is constantly evolving,” he continued. “For us, it is now time for an exciting change. We look forward to presenting our line-up for season 12 soon.”
Franz Jung, CEO of Envision Racing, also emphasizes Frijns’ role in the team’s success. “Since his arrival in season 5, Robin has achieved fantastic results. We thank him for his dedication and wish him success in his next challenge.” Robin Frijns himself has not yet responded. What he will do next year is not yet known. In the current season, the Dutchman did not get further than P7. This puts him in nineteenth place in the championship.
