The signing of Rinus ‘Veekay’ van Kalmthout has led to great euphoria for Dave O’Neill, the team boss of Juncos Hollinger Racing. “We have grand plans with our entire team, both on and off the track. And securing a driver with a track record like Rinus’s is a clear step in that direction.”

O’Neill, formerly the sporting director and team manager of the Haas Formula 1 team, is adamant about the future ambitions of Juncos Hollinger Racing and Van Kalmthout. “Rinus’s return feels like a natural process, given the success we’ve celebrated in the past. Juncos Hollinger Racing is heading into its fifth IndyCar season, and Rinus has just completed his sixth full year at the highest level. We have absolute faith in him: he brings the combination of pure speed, consistency, savvy, and experience we were looking for. Rinus plays a key role in our lineup.”

Last season, Juncos Hollinger Racing’s driver duo consisted of Conor Daly and Sting Ray Robb. While Van Kalmthout finished fourteenth in the final standings, they finished eighteenth and twenty-fifth respectively. With the Dutchman on board, the team is complete: he will likely replace Daly, as Sting Ray Robb still has a contract for the upcoming season.

The 2026 IndyCar season traditionally starts with a race in the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, on Sunday, March 1.
