Ralf Schumacher Predicts Tsunoda's Red Bull Exit

Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher scrutinizes the situation of Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull. The German observes how the Japanese driver continues to lag behind teammate Max Verstappen and believes that Red Bull may decide to let Tsunoda go in the upcoming races. Schumacher also thinks that a potential seat at Aston Martin, through Tsunoda’s sponsor Honda, is not in the cards for the Japanese driver.

For four consecutive Grand Prix weekends, Yuki Tsunoda has not scored a single point for Red Bull. One more point-less race weekend and the Japanese driver will even match the point-less streak of former Red Bull driver Mark Webber from 2009. For comparison: teammate Max Verstappen has, in the same period, including a dropout in Austria, scored 31 World Championship points.

For former driver Ralf Schumacher, it is therefore certain. “From my perspective, Tsunoda’s career is over. He’s just too far off and makes too many mistakes,” says the analyst at Sky Germany. “He is very, very far removed from Max Verstappen. To be honest and in a nutshell: If he doesn’t get a grip on the RB21 in the upcoming races, he’s probably already out at Red Bull.”

Tsunoda’s Complete Exit from F1?

If Red Bull indeed decides to let the Japanese driver go, the six-time Grand Prix winner doesn’t even think Tsunoda can find a spot on another team. “I also don’t think he’ll be at the front of the line for a seat at Aston Martin with Honda,” Schumacher continues. Honda has been the personal sponsor of the Japanese driver for some time. “That’s why I would say now that we won’t see Tsunoda in Formula 1 at the end of the year. The problem is that if you’re slow and breaking things, the team quickly loses patience.”
