Ralf Schumacher, the younger brother of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, has shared a photo of his new love, a man, on Instagram. This makes him the first driver in modern Formula 1 to openly declare his homosexuality.
‘The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything,’ Schumacher writes under the photo with his loved one on his Instagram (173,000 followers). The former German F1 driver was previously married to Cora, with whom he has a son (David) who wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. The German tabloid Bild, usually very well informed, writes that Schumacher’s boyfriend is a Frenchman with whom he has been living for two years.
Schumacher (49) drove Formula 1 for Jordan, Williams, and Toyota from 1997 to 2007. He won six Grand Prix.
