During the first free practice at Monza, the Alpine team is also placing a reserve driver behind the wheel. The French team is letting Paul Aron take over Franco Colapinto’s A525 for an hour. This is the first free practice for the Estonian Aron with the French racing team this year. ‘I’m going to try to do the best job possible,’ the rookie promises.

McLaren’s Alex Dunne is not the only reserve driver who gets to drive a free practice during the weekend in Monza. Alpine is also entrusting Franco Colapinto’s A525 to Paul Aron. The Estonian has already driven two free practices for Sauber this season, during the Grands Prix of Great Britain and Hungary. Last month, the reserve driver also tested for Pirelli in an Alpine. Previously, the now departed Ryo Hirakawa had already driven a free practice for the French racing team.

Alpine’s Trust

“I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the A525 for my first Grand Prix weekend with the team in Monza,” the 21-year-old driver looks ahead to the GP Italy. “Since I joined the team as a test and reserve driver at the end of last year, I’ve gotten to know everyone well. I appreciate the trust the team is placing in me by letting me drive in the first free practice on Friday.”

Aron also has a goal for the first practice hour of the race weekend. “I want to do the best job possible to set up the car for the entire weekend. This way, we’ll be in the best position to have a competitive race weekend from the start,” the Estonian continues. “Personally, it will be great to build on the experience I’ve gained with the simulator and during test days. I’ll make sure I use this to have an enjoyable and productive session for both myself and the team.”
