With the confirmation that Oliver Bearman will be one of Haas’s drivers next year, the Formula 1 team plans to utilize him at least five more times during training or testing this season. It’s likely that Nico Hülkenberg or Kevin Magnussen will have to give up their seats even more frequently.
Upcoming Training Sessions and Tests
“I’m scheduled for six free training sessions in total,” Bearman shares from the paddock at the Silverstone circuit. “Four of those are still to come, and I’ll also be doing a tire test for the team, on the Wednesday after the British Grand Prix. This will allow me to cover a lot of miles, which will significantly aid me in preparing for my first full-time Formula 1 season.”
Potential Additional Opportunities
However, it’s not ruled out that Haas may use him even more frequently, as per paddock whispers. This will be in consultation with Ferrari, where Bearman is part of the junior team. He made his GP debut earlier this season in Saudi Arabia, filling in for the then-absent Carlos Sainz. Bearman became the youngest Ferrari driver ever in a Grand Prix and immediately scored points.
Changes in the Haas Team
At Haas, Hülkenberg is definitely leaving after this season. He’s moving to Stake F1 Kick Sauber to drive for Audi in Formula 1 from 2026. The future of Magnussen remains uncertain.
