Ocon Targets Strong Singapore GP for Haas

Esteban Ocon is looking forward with confidence to the Grand Prix weekend in Singapore. The Haas driver believes that the layout of the Marina Bay Street Circuit suits his team better than the tracks of recent weeks. Only in Zandvoort was he able to narrowly make it into the top ten. In Singapore, Ocon previews the opportunities and challenges that await him there.

Esteban Ocon is candid about Haas’s fluctuating form since the summer break. The strong race in Zandvoort gave hope, but the team fell short on other circuits. “Since the summer break, we had a very good weekend in Zandvoort. The qualification was tough, but we had a very good pace in the race,” says Ocon. “After that, the circuits were more difficult for us. In Baku and Monza, we lacked quite a bit of speed in certain parts of the track.”

Advantage for Haas

According to Ocon, Singapore offers new opportunities. The twisty street circuit has few long straights – a point where Haas often falls short this year. “I hope we have more speed in the car here in Singapore. It’s a circuit I like, especially since they removed a few corners in the last sector that I never liked. We usually lose a lot of time on the straights. There aren’t many of those here. We are usually good at traction and acceleration out of slow corners, and our low-speed performance is also quite good.” However, it remains fiercely competitive, Ocon emphasizes: “The whole field will be very close together again. It will be tough, also because of the weather. It’s up to us to seize every opportunity this weekend.”
