Not only is the GP Canada scheduled for this weekend in the world of motorsport, but the 24 Hours of Le Mans also kicks off on Saturday, June 14. As usual, there is no shortage of Dutch participants in the 24-hour race this year. We list all the Dutch drivers who are heading to the French circuit this year.
In the highest class of Le Mans, the Hypercars, two Dutch drivers will participate this year: Nyck de Vries and Robin Frijns. De Vries will be driving the #7 Toyota Gazoo, along with teammates Kamui Kobayashi and Mike Conway, while Frijns will take his place in the #20 BMW M Team WRT. Particularly De Vries, who was allowed to drive half a season in Formula 1 in 2023, is keen on revenge during the long-distance race, after his team narrowly lost to the #50 Ferrari last year.
LMP2 and LMGT3
Dutch drivers will also be in action in the LMP2 and LMGT3 at Le Mans. Bent Viscaal, Renger van der Zande, Job van Uitert, and Nicky Catsburg will be driving in the LMP2. The drivers will respectively step into car numbers 11, 22, 28, and 45. Lin Hodenius and Loek Hartog will participate in the LMGT3, during the 93rd edition of the prestigious race.
