“British driver Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) secured third place in the Miami GP sprint race this Saturday, thanks to a bold strategic choice.

Lando Norris (sprint winner, McLaren):

“I’ve been very lucky in Miami. The pace was good but it’s always difficult in these kinds of races to know when to stop, whether to pit early or wait and hope for a safety car. It’s worked two years in a row but I would have preferred it to happen tomorrow (Sunday) in the race rather than today (Saturday). Pole position will be the goal. There are a lot of fast drivers. Yesterday (Friday), I made a few minor mistakes.”

Oscar Piastri (2nd, McLaren):

“I did everything right but I finished second. That’s how it is, I was unlucky and I hope to have more luck later in the qualifications and tomorrow (Sunday). I had a good start and I’m happy with what I did. We had a good pace in the sprint qualifications and I hope we can exploit it. We have a fast car and we will try to make it even faster.”

Lando Norris won the sprint race in Miami ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri.

Lewis Hamilton (3rd, Ferrari):

“I’m so happy. This season has been tough so far. I didn’t think it would rain like this in Miami, but what a race it gives us. I really struggled with the intermediates, like everyone else, so I took the gamble to pit earlier as it would have led us nowhere. With a few more laps, I might have been able to give the McLarens a bit more of a challenge.”

Andrea Kimi Antonelli (10th, Mercedes, speaking to Canal+):

“There is still one qualification and opportunities to bounce back. Of course, it’s disappointing, it was a great opportunity starting from pole. But it seems that you can push very far into this first turn and that’s good to know for the future. Regarding the incident in the pit lane, we can’t blame Max Verstappen for what happened. He followed his team’s instructions and couldn’t do anything. I’m glad nothing worse happened as it could have been a bigger incident. We damaged the car but it could have been dangerous for the mechanics.”
