The Formula 1 season is approaching a thrilling climax. After the Las Vegas Grand Prix – and the disappointment for McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri – there are two more Grands Prix on the calendar. Before the drivers head to Abu Dhabi for the season finale, they have one more sprint weekend in Qatar; a notorious event, partly due to the extreme heat at the Losail International Circuit. Here’s the weather forecast for the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix.

The Qatar Grand Prix is known for its tropical temperatures. In the past, the heat has taken its toll on more than one occasion. For instance, the 2023 edition went down in the books as one of the hottest races in modern Formula 1 history. This had significant consequences: rookie Logan Sargeant had to abandon his race prematurely, and Esteban Ocon emptied his stomach into his helmet. Partly due to this gruelling race, Formula 1 began working on the cooling vests that were introduced this year.

Weather Forecast for the Qatar Grand Prix

However, the upcoming weekend promises not to be extremely hot at and around the Losail International Circuit. After the cold of Las Vegas, the temperatures in Doha are likely to be a pleasant surprise. On Friday – when the only free practice and the sprint qualification take place – the temperature will reach a maximum of 28 degrees Celsius. The sun will shine all day, the chance of precipitation is naturally zero percent, and there will be a gentle, northern wind.

On Saturday, the sprint race and the regular qualification are scheduled. It will cool down slightly in Qatar, with temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius, although it will remain sunny all day. The chance of rain is again zero. This trend continues on Sunday, when the Grand Prix is held; the temperature will reach a maximum of 24 degrees.
