During the Zandvoort Grand Prix, Lando Norris had to prematurely abandon his fight for victory due to a problem with his MCL39. As a result, the gap in the championship with his teammate and leader Oscar Piastri has increased to 34 points. Max Verstappen, an expert in thrilling title battles, advises Lando Norris to quickly shake off the disappointing weekend and continue to work hard.

After his strong finish at Zandvoort, Max Verstappen had a clear message for Lando Norris: “You just have to keep working hard, try to keep winning. There are plenty of races to turn the tide or not – time will tell.”

According to Verstappen, a breakthrough for the Brit is still definitely possible. He reflects on his own experiences from 2021 – think of his DNF in Baku or crashes in Silverstone and Monza. He emphasizes that such setbacks sometimes lie beyond your control.

Piastri remains strong this season, although he made a mistake in the rain during the opening race in Australia – showing that even he is vulnerable. Verstappen told F1TV: “I wouldn’t say that Piastri has a comfortable margin – as we saw today, one DNF can change everything.”
