With 209 Grand Prix under his belt, Nico Hülkenberg is a veteran of modern Formula 1. Over the past 14 years, the driver has accumulated a significant number of World Championship points. However, despite his hard work, he has never tasted victory, making him a unique figure in the sport. Nico Hülkenberg now holds the record for the most starts without a win.

A young Nico Hülkenberg made his debut in 2010 with the Williams team, marking the beginning of a long career in the highest echelons of motorsport. 209 Grand Prix later, the German has proven himself as one of the most formidable drivers on the grid. Yet, his races with Renault, Force India, and Haas have never been crowned with a win.

With this, Nico Hülkenberg breaks a 30-year-old record held by Italian Andrea de Cesaris. Perhaps even more frustrating: in all his years in Formula 1, the Haas driver has never finished in the top three. The record for the most Grand Prix without a podium has been his since 2017.

A Turnaround with Audi?

Recently, Hülkenberg signed a new contract with Sauber, the team that will be known as Audi on the grid from 2026. The Germans are, of course, in it to win, so there’s a high chance they will provide him with a competitive car. This could potentially allow the record holder to finally make his mark.
