Charles Leclerc, the victor of the Grand Prix of Monaco, has been bestowed with a unique honor. He has been chosen to carry the Olympic torch through his homeland on Tuesday. As the countdown to the Paris Olympics begins, the Olympic torch is making its journey through France, with a pit stop in the principality. Leclerc has been given the prestigious role of torchbearer.
The Monegasque authorities announced on Monday that Charles Leclerc has been selected as the torchbearer. The ceremonial procession will arrive in Monaco on Tuesday, and the Ferrari driver will take over the flame. Alongside him, skier Alexandra Coletti, table tennis player Xiaoxin Yang, and bobsledder Rudy Rinaldi will also partake in this Olympic tradition.
Prince Albert II’s Participation
Prince Albert II will also be present at the event. Accompanied by his wife, Princess Charlene, the monarch will follow the procession. The Olympic torch began its journey in the French overseas territories and is expected to arrive in Paris by the end of July. The Games will officially open in the French capital on July 26th, UST.
