Mexican Grand Prix: Mild Weather Awaits F1 Drivers

The Formula 1 is heading to Mexico this weekend! At the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, the drivers will compete for 71 laps to win the Mexican Grand Prix. While the FIA issued an official heat warning ahead of the weekends in Singapore and Austin, United States, it seems unnecessary for the race in Mexico City. The temperature is expected to reach a maximum of around 25 degrees Celsius during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend, with even a slight chance of showers.

During the past Grands Prix, it was tough for the drivers. Both in Singapore and in Austin, the FIA issued an official ‘Heat Hazard Declaration‘, which required drivers to race with the cooling vest system on their car. However, the governing body only issues this heat warning if it promises to be above 31 degrees Celsius during a race weekend, making the chance of a repeat in Mexico slim.

Weather Forecast for the Mexican Grand Prix

Although it promises to be sunny for the majority of the days when the Formula 1 is back in the country during the race weekend in Mexico City, there is a small chance of a shower every day. On Friday, when traditionally the first and second free practice sessions are scheduled for this weekend, the weather promises to be sunny for the first test hour. This is good news for all rookies who are allowed to get behind the wheel in Mexico. During the second practice hour, there is a thirty percent chance of precipitation. The temperature will be around 24 degrees Celsius.

A day later on Saturday, it is sunny again during the third free practice. In the afternoon, there is a small chance, around twenty percent, of a shower during the qualification. The temperature will again be around 24 degrees Celsius at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. On Sunday, the main event is scheduled, and there is also a twenty percent chance of sprinkles on the asphalt. The temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius on the last day of the Mexican Grand Prix.
