The new Formula 1 season is racing towards us! Before 22 new cars hit the track in Melbourne, all participating teams are picking dates to unveil their latest speed machines. Mercedes and Williams have now revealed when we can catch our first glimpse of the W17 and FW48, respectively. Grab your calendars!
Mercedes has confirmed that on January 22, we’ll get our first look at their challenger for 2026. This will be a digital launch showcasing renders of the new livery. The Silberpfeile become the fourth team to unveil their new car. Red Bull and sister team Racing Bulls kick things off on January 15 with a joint launch in Detroit, home of engine supplier Ford. Mercedes has another date circled on the Formula 1 calendar: on February 2, the actual W17 will be officially unveiled, with drivers and team management present.
Striking Livery for Williams
Williams will also present their new car on February 3. During private tests in Barcelona from January 26 to 30, the team will use a test livery chosen by fans. In a press release, the British team describes the 2026 color scheme as ‘striking.’ The design may harken back to Williams’ rich history. The team has previously announced a return to their old name, ‘Williams F1 Team.’
With these announcements from Mercedes and Williams, nearly all teams have set dates for their livery unveilings. The reigning champions, McLaren, are the only ones yet to reveal when their new car will make its debut.
