No special livery for the Mercedes team at the upcoming Austrian GP, but a unique sticker instead. This weekend, a green sticker with the words ‘pre-fit OK’ adorns the nose of the W16 car. It is a tribute to the recently deceased Mark Hudson. The Brit, who had been working at Mercedes for over twelve years, was a valued member of the Silberpfeile’s Composite Build team.

To honor Mark Hudson, Mercedes is racing this weekend with a green ‘pre-fit OK’ sticker on the car – a subtle but meaningful gesture. This sticker usually marks the moment when a part has been approved for assembly. It was Hudson who traditionally attached the very last part to the new car before it was sent for the first shakedown or test. Underneath this green detail, Mercedes wrote: “In memory of Mark Hudson.”

“Last week, we sadly lost our colleague and friend Mark Hudson,” Mercedes wrote on social media channels. “To honor him, we are racing this weekend with his name on the car. Our thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time.”
