McLaren has extended the contract of Peter Prodromou, Technical Director of Aerodynamics, for several more years. This move strengthens the technical backbone of the British racing team, which managed to secure its ninth constructor’s title in Formula 1 in 2024.
Key Role for Prodromou
Prodromou has been playing a pivotal role within McLaren for many years. He started his career with the team in 1991 as a designer and rose to become the head of aerodynamics. After a successful stint at Red Bull, he returned to McLaren in 2014, where he has since been making a significant contribution to the development of the cars. “It’s an honor to be part of such a close-knit team and contribute to this upward trajectory,” says Prodromou about his contract extension. “After last season’s success, I look forward to building further on our shared ambition to win more world championships.”
Stability
The extension of Prodromou’s contract fits into a broader strategy of McLaren to ensure continuity. The team had previously extended the contracts of drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, as well as team boss Andrea Stella. McLaren is thus fully committed to stability, with the aim of competing for the world titles again in the coming years.
Team boss Stella praises Prodromou’s contribution: “Peter has played an indispensable role in the rebuilding of our team, both technically and organizationally. The progress we have made as a team would not have been possible without him.”
