After a sunny weekend in Monaco, Formula 1 heads to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix. This is the final stop in a European trilogy and also the second triple header of the season. McLaren remains the team to beat, but the new FIA rules regarding flexi-wings may throw a spanner in the works for the British team. Could the weather over the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya also cause some surprises? Check out the weather forecast for the Spanish Grand Prix here!

So far, the weather has played a modest role in the anniversary season of Formula 1. In fact, only the opening race in Australia was truly at the mercy of the weather gods. Since Melbourne, it has remained remarkably dry when Max Verstappen and his colleagues ventured onto the asphalt. During the upcoming race weekend in Barcelona, they seem to be looking forward to a number of sun-drenched sessions again. A glance at the current weather forecast for the Spanish Grand Prix reveals that only the temperature may play a significant role.

Weather Forecast for the Spanish Grand Prix

On Friday, when the first free practice sessions are held, it is pleasant in Barcelona. Not a cloud in the sky, if we are to believe the latest predictions. The maximum temperature is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius and the chance of precipitation is currently zero percent. The many spectators would do well to bring sunscreen to the circuit; with fifteen hours of sunshine per day, you can easily get sunburned in the stands.

This trend continues into the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, when the qualification and the race are scheduled respectively, it cools down slightly, although daytime temperatures can still rise to around 28 degrees Celsius. The chance of rain is again negligible. Furthermore, a gentle southern wind blows all weekend, so the drivers have little to fear in that regard. It will mainly be a battle against the heat – the elements will have little influence otherwise.
