The title fight in the F1 Academy ended in disappointment for Maya Weug in Las Vegas. The Dutch driver had a chance to become the champion in the final weekend of the season, but ultimately had to settle for second place.

In the first of two races in Las Vegas, Weug crashed during the warm-up lap on Friday. To make matters worse, she saw her title rival Doriane Pin win the race. The French driver, who had already started the final weekend with a nine-point lead, secured the title with a fifth-place finish in the second race.

In that second race, Weug still had a theoretical chance to overtake Pin, but she was unsuccessful. However, the Ferrari driver, racing for MP Motorsport, ended on a positive note with a third-place finish in the second race. Nina Gademan, the other Dutch driver in the F1 Academy, finished on the podium in the first race and seventh in the second race. In the final standings, the Alpine driver finished sixth.
