Red Bull Executive Helmut Marko Confirms Max Verstappen‘s Participation in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

Red Bull’s top executive, Helmut Marko, is confident that Max Verstappen will participate in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring next year. Despite a packed Formula 1 schedule, Red Bull will not stand in his way. On the contrary, it seems. “I am sure he will compete and he will be in the running for the final victory,” the Austrian enthusiastically states.

Speaking to RTL Germany, Marko expressed his appreciation for Verstappen’s commitment outside of Formula 1. The Dutchman earned the necessary license to participate in the renowned 24-hour race at the Nürburgring last weekend: “It’s fantastic that a Formula 1 driver, who has many obligations from simulator work to marketing and PR appointments, still takes the time for something like this and does it with such enthusiasm.”

According to the Austrian, participating in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring perfectly suits Verstappen. “The Nürburgring and the Nordschleife fascinate every racer. At a time when our car was not competitive, this was his great passion. Now both are working together.”

The race will take place next year in May, on a weekend without Formula 1. Verstappen is likely to compete in a Ferrari GT3, the model he tested earlier this year on the Nordschleife.
