On Saturday afternoon, Max Verstappen qualified sixth for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. On the Baku street circuit, the three-time world champion from Red Bull had to concede a hefty 0.658 seconds to pole sitter Charles Leclerc. “The car was bouncing all over the place,” a disappointed Max Verstappen reported over the radio.

This was the first time in nineteen races that Verstappen had to admit defeat in a qualifying session to his teammate Sergio Pérez. The Mexican clocked the fourth fastest time.
