Max Verstappen, the three-time world champion from Red Bull Racing, has been approached by several World Endurance Championship teams to participate in the renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans in the future. He recently confirmed this, as the famed auto racing classic is scheduled for this weekend.

Verstappen has repeatedly expressed his desire to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but preferably after the conclusion of his Formula 1 career. He previously suggested that combining the two could lead to scheduling conflicts due to the packed F1 calendar. However, he now believes that a combination is possible, provided it is well-prepared.

Following his public declarations of love for Le Mans, several interested teams have reached out to him. Verstappen responded that he does not want to make hasty decisions. Moreover, it is known that he is not a fan of the Balance-of-Performance principle in hypercars.

“But I absolutely want to race there. I remember when I was eleven or twelve years old and my father raced at Le Mans. At that time, I was still a child, but the whole atmosphere in Le Mans is fantastic,” Verstappen recently told several media outlets in Monaco. “I also like the team aspect. You have to find a setup compromise that works for all drivers.”

His father, Jos Verstappen, competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2008 in the LMP2 class, along with his teammates Peter van Merksteijn and Jeroen Bleekemolen.
