In a thrilling Formula 2 sprint race on Saturday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Spanish driver Josep Maria Marti was declared the winner.
However, the post-race discussions were dominated by a spectacular crash shortly after the start, in which Sami Meguetounif’s car flipped over. All involved drivers emerged unscathed, but the red flag was immediately raised. After the race resumed, Marti managed to secure the victory. Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) finished fourth. In the World Championship standings, the Dutch driver is currently ranked second.
The main race in Austria is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
