Charles Leclerc will start from the front row at the Mexican Grand Prix. The Monegasque driver had to concede to Lando Norris in the qualifiers, but still sees opportunities to turn the race in his favor. A victory would be special: exactly a year ago, Ferrari won their last race, which also took place here in Mexico City.
“This qualification was very challenging,” Leclerc said afterwards. “There’s hardly any grip, causing the car to slide in all directions. Driving a fast lap is difficult, but I’m satisfied with what we’ve achieved. I don’t think it was possible to go much faster with this car.”
Yet, there is hope at Ferrari for a good Sunday. The SF-25 seems to perform better on long runs, and Leclerc is set on a strong start. “That would mean a lot to us,” he says about the possibility of winning. “I will do everything I can to take the lead in the first corner and then we’ll see what’s possible.”
