It takes blood, sweat, and training. But Lando Norris crowns an almost perfect weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria with his third Grand Prix victory of 2025. The margin with Oscar Piastri is small, but the Brit successfully concludes a fierce duel with his teammate this time. “A lot of stress in the car, but also a lot of fun,” Norris believes.

In Austria, Lando Norris is a man on a mission for three days. The Brit wants to immediately correct the flop from two weeks ago in Canada where he crashed rather clumsily and dropped out in the final phase due to a misjudgment. From the opening training, he sets the tone, followed a day later by a powerful qualifying session. In it, he is half a second faster than Charles Leclerc, an eternity on the mere 4.3 kilometer long Red Bull Ring.

This sets the stage for his third victory of this year, after Australia and Monaco. Norris reduces the gap in the World Championship standings to teammate Oscar Piastri to fifteen points. “It was a pretty tough race,” Norris admits. “Tricky and very hot. For our team, this is a perfect result. We wanted a one-two and we got it.”

Norris’ victory was preceded by a round-long and intense duel, especially in the opening phase. The elbows were out, twice the duo narrowly escaped a crash. “It was a great fight with Oscar,” says Norris. “I hope it was fun for everyone to watch. Once I got Oscar out of the DRS, I was able to control the race a bit.”
