In June, F1, the new Formula 1 movie featuring Brad Pitt, will finally hit the cinemas. During a special preview in Monaco, all Formula 1 drivers got a first impression of this new Hollywood production – including Lando Norris. The McLaren driver enjoyed his acting debut and sees the film as a great source of inspiration for the younger generation. Other guests also responded enthusiastically.

“I was brilliant and that’s the most important thing,” Lando Norris joked to Formula1.com. During a special preview in Monaco, he and his Formula 1 colleagues got a taste of the project. “It was a very good movie, a nice storyline,” he continued in a serious tone. “I don’t know how much I can and can’t say!” Since the F1 movie only premieres in June, the drivers are not allowed to reveal too much about the plot.

“It was a cool story and I think also an inspiring story,” Norris concluded. “There were many different meanings behind it. I think the film can be very inspiring for young people, for example.” Pierre Gasly also enjoyed this special premiere. “It was really cool to see for the first time,” the Frenchman declared. “I think people will enjoy it – it’s a real dive into the Formula 1 world and all the roles around the sport. I’m sure people will like it.”

Verstappen Prefers to Stay at Home

All team bosses were invited to view the F1 film, including Red Bull’s top man, Christian Horner. “I thought it was excellent,” he responded positively. “We are probably the worst possible audience for this film, as we scrutinize all the details,” he joked. “That being said, it was very authentic. The way the story is intertwined with the drivers and the teams is truly amazing – highly recommended. You can see that they really took the time to understand the sport and I think it’s a great way to introduce the sport to people who have never been involved with Formula 1 before.”

Max Verstappen was – surprisingly enough – absent during the preview. The Dutchman was livestreaming with his friends from Team Redline. During a media session leading up to the Monaco GP, he stated that he wanted to enjoy his free time. “I let them know in time that I didn’t want to be there,” he said dryly. “These kinds of things are of course not mandatory, so I’d rather stay at home. I’m away from home so much, so I think this is more than normal. Eight years ago, I probably would have done the same.”
