On Saturday afternoon, Lando Norris convincingly secured pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix. The Brit was extremely pleased with his super-fast pole lap on the Red Bull Ring (in 1.03,971), which put the rest of the field at a distance. “Nice to see the old Lando again, eh,” he said over the radio. “The car was damn good.”
“It was definitely a good lap. I built it up calmly during the qualification, everything went according to plan. Hopefully, we can continue this,” Norris told former driver and interviewer David Coulthard on the grid after the qualification.
Norris: “I am very satisfied and I am enjoying this moment, but it is a long season. This qualifying session was certainly very satisfying, but I hope that more such moments will follow.”
