The international expert jury has spoken: Peter J. Fox is the winner of the inaugural Peter’s F1 Racing Photo Contest. The photographer received the top prize of €2,500 from the organisers during an awards ceremony at Bleekemolens Race Planet in Amsterdam. A fitting tribute to Peter van Egmond and to all F1 photographers who capture the pinnacle of motorsport week after week.

The winning photograph, which captured the exuberant celebration of Lando Norris’ championship, impressed the five-member jury chaired by renowned British journalist Joe Saward. The international panel also included multiple award‑winning photographers Steve Etherington, Steven Tee (member, FIA Media Advisory Committee), Andreas Terlaak and Klaas Jan van der Weij. Kees van de Grint, a personal friend of Peter van Egmond, served as contest director.

“There have been countless photos taken of the moment Norris celebrated his championship, but this one is very special. The composition, the colours and the original angle make this image stand out. In addition, all the lines in the picture lead straight to Norris, which gives the frame real power,” the jury said in its commentary.

According to the jury, the winning photo precisely captures what the competition is about: recognition for the photographic craft that makes Formula 1 accessible to millions of fans worldwide.

At the awards presentation at Bleekemolens Race Planet in Amsterdam, hosted by Rob Kamphues, photographers Victor Eleuterio and Arturo Perea also took prizes. They received €1,250 and €750 respectively for their impressive work.

Peter van Egmond, who died in early 2025, photographed more than 500 Grands Prix over a 40-year career. This contest honours not only his legacy but also that of the hundreds of fellow photographers who capture Formula 1’s action, speed and emotion for us week after week. A fine tradition that, thanks to Peter’s F1 Racing Photo Contest, receives the recognition it deserves.
