Lance Stroll will miss the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix on medical advice, after experiencing prolonged discomfort in his hand and wrist, Aston Martin confirmed on Saturday evening.
In a statement, the Silverstone-based team revealed that ‘Lance has been experiencing pain in his hand and wrist over the past six weeks, which his medical advisor believes is related to the procedure he underwent in 2023’. “As a result, the medical staff has confirmed that he will not race on Sunday and will undergo a procedure to address the issues, after which he will focus on his recovery.”
Stroll qualified fourteenth in Barcelona on Saturday. It is unknown how long he may be sidelined. The next race is in two weeks in Canada, his home race.
