The family of Jules Bianchi has taken to social media to report a shocking burglary at the JB17 Forever Foundation. Thieves have made off with several karts, including the very last one Bianchi raced before moving to single-seaters. The family emphasizes the sentimental value of these items and urges fans to keep their eyes peeled. Jules Bianchi tragically passed away in 2015 following a horrific accident during the Japanese GP.
Philippe Bianchi, the father of the late Formula 1 driver, made an urgent plea to the motorsport community to be on the lookout for the stolen karts and to reach out if they see them. “Dear friends, I’m reaching out tonight to my kart family,” he posted on Facebook. “Tonight, we have been robbed; thieves have stolen nine chassis from JB17 Forever.” Among the stolen items are not only historical pieces belonging to Jules Bianchi himself but also karts used within the foundation and by the family.
‘The emotional value hurts us’
“They stole Jules’ last kart, a KZ 125 ART GP, along with the mini-karts of my grandsons,” the message continued. “Beyond the material value, it’s the emotional value that truly hurts us. If you see JB17 karts circulating, please let me know. Thank you in advance.”
Following the tragic death of Jules Bianchi, who suffered severe injuries in a crash during the Japanese GP, his father established the Jules Bianchi Association. This organization later evolved into the JB17 Forever Foundation, dedicated to helping young drivers who often struggle to find their way in motorsport due to a lack of financial support.
