Jos Verstappen, father of Max Verstappen, is set to participate in the historic Rally of Corsica in October, starting and finishing in Porto-Vecchio. He will be driving a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RS. The 24th edition of this renowned rally will take place from October 5th to 12th.

Jos Verstappen has gained considerable rally experience over the years. Since his rally debut in 2022, he has already won six races in the Belgian championship. He made his World Rally Championship debut at the Rally of Ypres in 2022, where he finished sixtieth in the WRC2.

“Jos may not yet have the off-road skills of a true specialist to anticipate changes in grip on the course,” says his regular navigator Renaud Jamoul. “However, he has an exceptional braking feel left over from his days on the circuit. He presses very hard on the pedal until it locks and then gradually releases it, just like an ABS system.”

“Jos belongs to the generation of H-gearboxes, so unlike current F1 drivers, it’s no problem for him to drive an older car,” says Romain Joffroy, who prepares the car for Verstappen. “Jos can’t yet measure how much fun he’s going to have at this rally behind the wheel of this 330 hp, 930 kg rear-wheel drive car. It’s his first participation, but certainly not the last.”
