Last weekend, Jos Verstappen proved his mettle by clocking the fastest time in six out of ten trials at the Rally de la Famenne. Alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul, the former Formula 1 driver dominated the majority of the event. However, a minor crash meant Verstappen had to sit out three stages, causing them to miss out on the overall victory.
Verstappen and Jamoul’s Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 car got off to a strong start in Wallonia. The duo successfully completed the first four stages, building a substantial lead over the second-place team. However, disaster struck during the fifth trial when Verstappen skidded, forcing him to sit out three stages.
The Skoda, adorned in Verstappen.com colors, returned to the field in the eighth round. Verstappen immediately clocked the fastest time. In the final two trials, the duo secured second and first place respectively. Despite their efforts, it wasn’t enough for the overall win, and the team finished in forty-third place in the standings. The Rally de la Famenne was won by Kris Princen and his co-driver Peter Kaspers.
