Following Max Verstappen’s crushing victory at the São Paulo GP, Jos Verstappen can also look back with satisfaction on his latest racing performance. Alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul, he won the Rally of South Limburg for the second time this weekend. Where the duo topped eight out of twelve stages last year, this year they claimed an impressive eleven victories. “I am very satisfied,” responded the former Formula 1 driver.

This year’s Belgian rally event consisted of three different stages, each run four times. This meant all participants faced twelve stages once again. “It went really well, I am very satisfied,” Jos Verstappen told Verstappen.com. “The course was slightly altered compared to last year. We also participated in this race to test a few things, and there’s no better place for that than a rally.”

‘Only Getting Better’

Max Verstappen’s father also had high praise for his collaboration with Renaud Jamoul, his Belgian co-driver in the Skoda Fabia RS. “We keep improving ourselves,” he continued. “He (Jamoul) is incredibly driven and professional. You need a good bond and mutual respect, and that’s definitely there. It’s only getting better.” The team won all the initial stages, quickly gaining a lead over closest rivals Frédéric Miclotte and his co-driver Robbie Plevoets. In the second run, the Dutch-Belgian duo continued to dominate and further extended their lead.

Only in the third round did Verstappen and Jamoul have to concede one stage to Kris Princen and co-driver Peter Kaspers. Nevertheless, their lead was further extended. After three more victories in the final series, the race was definitively decided. With eleven victories and one second place, the duo had an extremely dominant weekend in South Limburg.
