Initially, he thought that Formula 1 cars might be ‘too fast’ for him. However, newcomer Isack Hadjar is proving the opposite in Formula 1. He is the revelation of 2025. “I’m not surprised that Isack is the best of the five rookies,” says his manager.
Just shy of a World Championship point, but still receiving compliments from the boss: Isack Hadjar (20) shows at the Miami International Autodrome that he is made of the right racing material. Many experts believed that the Frenchman was promoted to the premier class this year only because there was nothing better available in Red Bull’s talent pool. A misconception, as can be concluded a quarter of the way into the season. “I’m not surprised that Isack is the best of the five rookies,” says Guillaume Le Goff, who forms the management team of the driver together with Hadjar’s mother, Randa. “I expected that. But I am surprised at how well he is doing in the races.”
At Racing Bulls, they are very fond of Hadjar after just half a year. Team boss Laurent Mekies openly praises the Frenchman for the ‘extraordinary impact’ he has had on the team since his arrival. “Isack is a unique character, a perfect fit for this team. He is young, smart, fast, funny, sincere, and firmly grounded,” Mekies believes. “But when he puts on the helmet, he is the most competitive person you can imagine.”
Hadjar, the son of Algerian parents, has quickly found his place within Racing Bulls. Although he is only 20, Mekies says he behaves very maturely. The technical feedback that Hadjar provides is ‘very good’, according to everyone on the team you ask. Much better than was expected from a young, inexperienced guy.
